No Greater Joy Than Music
There is no better way to ring in this festive season’s good tidings than with the merry performance of the SLO Children’s Choir as they sing memorable holiday tunes such as Can’t believe it’s Christmas by Carl Strommen, Silent Night by Franz Xaver Gruber and This Little Light of Mine by Ginger Littleton. To add to the festive cheer, this year’s repertoire also includes several French, Italian and Spanish carols.
In concert with the Children’s Choir will be the Opera Chorus, The Expressos as well as guest choirs from SLO’s Singing For All outreach programme.
After a successful start in 2012 with the secondary schools, the Singing for All outreach programme is continually committed to providing additional avenues for neighbourhood school students to perform and to hone their vocal and performance skills and self‐confidence. The Singing For All Choir aims to nurture the spirit of friendship and community amongst the young through this initiative.
This year’s guest choirs include, C.H.I.J (Kellock), Geylang Methodist Primary School, Marsiling Primary School and White Sands Primary School. With a combined strength of 120 students, this diverse selection of choirs celebrates the season’s spirit of love, sharing and giving – regardless of faith and belief.
