From the official press release:
Cavalia to Take Its Last Curtain Call with Final Week Extension- Must Close October 5
Last Chance to Experience the Magic and Beauty of Cavalia in Singapore!
SINGAPORE (September 18, 2014) - After sold-out performances and overwhelming demand throughout Southeast Asia, the producers of Cavalia are delighted to announce a final week of shows in Singapore before it travels to Seoul. This unique theatrical production featuring 50 magnificent horses and 42 artists, has played to standing ovations since its opening night, will now have its last performance under the White Theatre Tent at Bayfront Avenue next to Marina Bay Sands on October 5. Tickets are now on sale.
“The reception we’ve received so far in Singapore has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic,” said Normand Latourelle, Cavalia's Founder and Artistic Director. He added: “Not only has the show been embraced by horse lovers, but also by those who enjoy innovative arts, and we see a lot of families - children, parents and grandparents - coming to enjoy this unique and rare spectacle. This first stop of our inaugural Asian tour has been a tremendous success so far, and we couldn’t be happier.”
Singapore audiences have been treated to breath-taking performances night after night during this lavish production, watching horses cavort with the many artists in front of a constantly changing digital background projected onto a 60 metre-wide screen, drawing spectators into dream-like environments.
Cavalia immediately established itself as one of the most critically-acclaimed productions this year in Singapore when it opened in August. The Straits Times declared the show was exciting and that, “This immense production is more than horseplay,” while TODAY Newspaper raved giving it 5 stars saying it was “an awe-inspiring experience with the best mix of equestrian and performing arts.” Glenn Ong of Class 95 hailed the production as “The most spectacular show, breathtaking, a must-see!” and Yahoo! Entertainment highly recommended Cavalia calling it “a visual spectacle that the whole family will enjoy.”
Milan Rokic, Managing Director of BASE Entertainment Asia stated, “Cavalia has been extremely well received here in Singapore and we are really pleased audiences have loved the show, but unfortunately no further extensions are possible as Cavalia must pack up its magnificent White Theatre tent together with 100 containers of equipment and leave our shores for its next Asian destination, which is Seoul. Following the special performances scheduled for the F1 weekend there will only be 14 shows left for audiences to catch this once in a life time production. Don’t miss it!”
TICKETS – For its exclusive season in Singapore, Cavalia is presented under its signature White Theatre Tent at Bayfront Avenue, beside Marina Bays Sands. Tickets are priced from S$58 to S$188+ service fees.
